  • You have the right to be treated with respect, kindness and sympathy
  • You have the right to set boundaries on proposed treatments
  • You have the right to ask for the provider’s credentials
  • You have the right to mind/body integrity (no inappropriate touching, no coercive practices)
  • You have the right to expect your therapist to be your ally in well-being
  • You have the right to be treated with dignity regardless of your situation in life
  • You have the right to be safe from negativity and agendas in your therapy space
  • You have the right to strict privacy so that you can open up without fear of exposure or betrayal
  • You have the right to see genuine progress in the course of therapy
  • You have the right to speak up and be heard if you are unhappy with any aspect of treatment
  • You have the right to quit without penalty or forced exit interview
  • You have the right to special accommodations if you are disabled or have special needs
  • You have the right to ask for financial accountability, including invoices and information on security protocols to protect your data
